Tribute to the VA Embraer 190

A year after announcing plans to cut the Embraer 190 fleet from Virgin Australia’s line up the last E190 plane (VH-ZPH) took off Saturday the 3rd of February from Newcastle Airport (NTL) en route to Brisbane (BNE) as VA1105.

I have traveled on the E190 a few times over the years and always found them a comfortable aircraft as a passenger, more so than the cramped quarters of the 737s.

It’s sad to see another aircraft type retired in Australia.  I understand Virgin’s reasons for doing so, but it doesn’t make the loss any less sad.
