Sydney North Head

Most people can visit Sydney and have no idea of this amazing location.  Located just 10 minutes drive from Manly’s CBD, North Head is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.

North Head is the headland located on the northern entrance to Sydney Harbour.  It’s primarily national park land but has some great spots to stop and take in the views.  There’s also walking tracks for those a little more adventurous.

To your east you’ll find breathtaking views of the heads opening Sydney Harbour up to the Pacific Ocean.

Panning around you’ll find amazing views towards South Head, the eastern harbour suburbs of Watsons Bay and Vaucluse off to the Sydney City itself in the distance.

Further to the right you’ll find Middle Head and the further expanses of Sydney Harbour towards the suburbs of Balmoral and Mosman.

How Do I Get Here?

North Head is just a few minutes drive from the Manly CBD.  It’s possible to walk but it’s very much up hill so you’d want to give yourself a lot of time.

There’s also bus services that head up the hill but will still require some walking.  It’s not a bad walk along North Head Scenic Drive with the occasional wildlife viable from the road.  There’s a cafe towards the end to offer up refreshments.
