Canberra September 2019

A quick weekend drive to Canberra (about 2.5 hours south of Sydney) to meet up with some friends and check out their new home and of course play the tourist in our nations capital.

Scrivener Dam

Located at the Western end of Lake Burley Griffin this was an accidental find looking for Telstra Tower’s turn off.  I like dams and the power of the water they hold back so I took some photos.

Who wouldn’t want to sit here and watch the ducks on the lake?

Next I went for a quick drive up Black Mountain to Telstra Tower.  I didn’t get out of the car.  It’s still there and same as it always is.

There was another spot nearby called Black Mountain Peninsula which is just a large area of parklands with rowing club and playgrounds and that kind of thing.  Had some good views towards Canberra and over the lake from here.

The weather had cleared up from the day before and besides some awesome looking clouds was nice and warm.

Next I drove through the CBD and up to Parliament House to take a quick photo.

The next stop was ….

Mount Ainslie Lookout

This has to be the best mountainous lookout in Canberra with 360 degree views from the top of the mountain in all directions!

Lastly for my photos was a wind farm North of Canberra on the way back to Sydney.
