Weekend Runway Videos

Hi all,

So I had a leisurely Sunday afternoon with nothing to do and no one at home so I decided to go sit at the airport and play around with my phone camera.

I’ve found a great spot at the northern end of the main north/south runway (16R) which is on Swamp Road at Tempe, around the back of IKEA.

From here the planes come over low enough to give you a good whiff of aviation fuel and the deafening roar of those powerful engines.  All in all I live for this stuff.

These videos aren’t that great but keep in mind I was sitting in my car, the battery on my phone was really really low and I was aiming to get as many different types of planes as possible.

Sadly the battery died at the end just when there was an ATR-72 and a Boeing 717 coming in so I missed adding these to the collection.

I hope you enjoy and please leave comments below if you like them.
