Launceston Day Trip

After very little planning I decided to take a day trip to Launceston.

The flights were Sydney to Melbourne to Launceston and back to Sydney.

I have made a blog of all the videos and photos in this Youtube clip here or you can read more below.

The day started out on a very cold Sydney morning with a flight to Melbourne and then a flight to Launceston.  This is my first time in Tasmania and it was amazing seeing some of the landscape from above on a cold but sunny morning.  Arriving in Launceston around 0930 and it was around 1 degree Celsius… COLD.

I hired a cheap car and head off up the highway to Launceston.  The town itself is both modern and historic with many old buildings scattered around the new.

There are numerous tourist spots around town to look at and not having time I mostly stopped to take photos and kept going.  Cataract Gorge is the focal point of much of the landscape so is worth a visit.

I finally ended with lunch at the Peppers Seaport Marina.  Fish and Chips in Tassie.  Awesome.

Finally I headed back to the airport in my trusty little Nissan.
